Vice President Nominee

About Uma Taylor

Uma Taylor is the Vice President of Meiborg 3PL, where she oversees logistics operations, warehousing performance, and trade compliance across a rapidly expanding network. She played a key strategic role in scaling Meiborg’s footprint from 400,000 to 1.2 million square feet in one year, pairing hands-on operational oversight with a forward-looking approach that strengthens capacity, efficiency, and customer reliability. Working closely with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), she leads bonded operations and streamlines import workflows, ensuring resilient supply chain performance amid shifting regulatory and tariff environments.

Previously, Uma managed national accounts and warehouse operations at Southwest Freight, ensuring alignment between logistics execution and CBP requirements. Her earlier public-sector career with the U.S. Department of Commerce and Malaysia’s Industrial Development Authority deepened her international business expertise, from advancing U.S. export opportunities to shaping cross-border regulatory frameworks and supporting global investment strategies. This global foundation continues to inform her ability to navigate complex supply chains and build strong partnerships.

Within ISM-Houston, Uma has delivered measurable and meaningful impact. As the 2025–2026 Sponsorship Committee Chair, she exceeded annual sponsorship goals, contributed to membership growth, expanded member engagement, and built a strong speaker pipeline that consistently delivers high-value programming. Previously, as the 2024–2025 Membership Committee Chair, she strengthened recruitment and retention efforts, broadening the chapter’s reach and deepening member connection. She also developed hands-on learning experiences at the Port of Houston, integrating logistics and compliance education for emerging professionals. Uma actively supports university engagement and participates in all ISM-Houston events, strengthening connections between students, practitioners, and leaders. Her influence extends across chapters through her work as a multi-chapter liaison, enhancing collaboration and knowledge-sharing across the ISM community.

A recognized thought leader, Uma also frequently speaks at industry forums including the Energy Procurement Summit on topics such as AI integration, tariff mitigation, and global trade trends.

At the heart of Uma’s leadership is a deep dedication to ISM-Houston and the supply chain community. She is driven by a genuine passion for giving back, mentoring the next generation, supporting peers at every career stage, and creating an environment where practitioners, students, and senior leaders feel equally valued and connected. Her ability to relate across all levels reflects her belief that a strong supply chain community is built through shared learning, collaboration, and service.

Outside of her professional and volunteer leadership, Uma is a devoted wife and mother of two boys and a rescue pup, grounding her work in empathy, resilience, and a deep commitment to community.

Uma’s blend of operational insight, international business experience, strategic growth orientation, and people-centered leadership positions her to elevate ISM-Houston’s programming, partnerships, and member value as Vice President.
